The Central Florida Kraze PDL Men, the Kraze & Krush Youth
Academy, and the Lil’ Kraze & Lil’ Krush were all on hand to help
with the announcement that professional soccer will be coming to
Orlando. The Press Conference held downtown on Thursday, March 4th was
packed with media from all outlets to welcome the United Soccer Leagues Franchise set to kickoff
in 2011.
First to speak was Tim Holt who is the President of United Soccer
Leagues. He was excited about the news that Orlando will become a new
member of the USL First Division. He also announced the partnership
that the new professional franchise will have with the Central Florida
Kraze & Krush franchise.
Next to speak was Mr. Steve Donner
who is President of the Orlando Soccer Group (NY Empire Lacrosse, LLC)
which will have the primary ownership stake in the new team. Mr. Donner
announced a long-term plan which is to bring a highly competitive squad
that will not only play in the USL First Division, but also bring other
soccer events to the local community.
Greg Brick was next to speak on behalf of the Kraze & Krush
franchise and was thrilled at the opportunity which has presented
itself. He spoke of the similar vision which both entities share and
told everyone in the room that the timing was perfect for professional
soccer to come to Orlando.
The Central Florida Kraze & Krush was very well represented and
both Tim Holt and Steve Donner stated that the reputation which the club
has established from its beginning over eleven years ago was a huge
part of this announcement. The Kraze PDL Men along with the Youth
Academies (U9 – U14) and the Lil Kraze & Lil Krush (U4 – U8) help
provide a total soccer package which the new professional team was
looking to be a part of.
More information will come shortly about this exciting venture. So
stay tuned and be ready for professional soccer in 2011…
